Giornata 8's Preview: SS.Lazio vs Cagliari

SS.Lazio ON-FIRE Against Cagliari

Serie A leaders Lazio are more confident than ever going into tomorrow's encounter against Cagliari.
The Biancoceleste have won five of their first seven fixtures and hold a two-point advantage over Inter Milan and AC Milan.

Moreover, Lazio have one of the best defensive lines in the tournament with just five goals conceded.

For the third successive game Lazio kept a clean sheet in last weekend's 2-0 triumph at Bari.

Lazio coach Edy Reja has further reason to be upbeat with his team showing no signs of weakness up front either, having found the target in their last six league games.

"I would give the team a seven out of 10 so far,'' said Lazio captain Tommaso Rocchi. "We are doing well.

"We started on the right foot and we were very determined to bounce back from our disappointing campaign last year.

"The club made important signings this summer and we are all working well.

"We are in a great position in the standings and now we need the strength to remain humble and take it one game at a time.''

Cagliari travel to the Stadio Olimpico looking for their first win on the road this season.

Last weekend's 1-0 defeat to Inter saw the Sardinian outfit drop to 16th place.

Despite the result, Cagliari coach Pier Paolo Bisoli was satisfied with his team's display.

"My players gave everything against the European champions and as a coach I can ask little more from my side,'' he said.

"If we continue like this each week I am sure the results will come flooding in.''
