Upcoming Match,Internazionale Milan vs SS.Lazio

Everyone might be know already that in the 1st meet,Lazio beat the defending champion by 3 goals to 1.But it was when Inter managed by Rafael Benitez. Now,He's not there anymore, has been replaced by former Milan coach Leonardo. It was a shocking news thought,to hire Leonardo. But he's giving all of his best to make Internazionale revive again.

When Rafa there,Inter was at 6th placed; But now its another story.Internazionale on Rafa reign isnt same with Leonardo's reign. The thing is,Leonardo can do better, and even make Inter claimed the 3rd place on the Serie A Table.

For US,Lazio,I'm pretty sure we already know this fact, the fact that show the determination of Internazionale, after hired Leonardo.
I dont think we can do an easy win like we did at Olimpico on the 1st meet.
Our squad are in a great shape, after defeating catania by 4 goals to 1,and the performance of few players has been great, even if we still couldnt use Ledesma and Radu at that time.

But the upcoming match,I'm pretty sure we can do something,at least to maintain the last spot for UEFA Champions League.I dont want to say we are impossible to win against Inter when we play at Giuseppe Meazza. We can do it,and also after Inter shame defeat,It could be hard for them to maintain the great shape. Also, they have been kicked from the 2nd place.I will clearly say they will go all-out to attack us.
But believe me,we are solid than before, and I'm pretty sure with the comfortable win over Catania at Sunday,we have something that could change the result at Giuseppe Meazza.

Zarate is not as ego as before;he even did two assists and a spectacular goal at the last minute. If he still at that performance,I can say we can steal three points from Giuseppe Meazza. Hernanes also have been found his performance, with the 1st goal he made over catania.

I only can say I am looking forward to Il Aquile's great performance at Giuseppe Meazza.Maybe we can steal 3-points there,to maintain our position, while Udinese will have to fight at Friuli against AC Parma, the team who surprisingly defeated Internazionale.

Last but not least,I've come with a prediction in my mind already.
After watch the head-to-head statistic, the meeting record and the player that are on fire,I predict that Lazio will Win by two goals to one...

So,Internazionale Milan 0-2 SS.Lazio
Goals made by Zarate and Mauri.
You got another prediction? You can post it here, let me know if you have it.

The Review on the giornata 33

Milan pounded Sampdoria to go six points clear at the top of the table following Napoli's loss on home soil to Udinese, as Massimiliano Allegri's edge ever closer to the 2010-11 Serie A title.

Goal.com took stock of all the important fixtures, including the Clarence Seedorf and Antonio Cassano-inspired exploits of the league leaders in their 3-0 triumph over dismal Samp, which is now in the relegation zone. Scudetto hopefuls Napoli suffered a blow, surprisingly losing to an Udinese side that was without the injured Antonio Di Natale and Alexis Sanchez, but who were the players who stepped up in their absence?

Inter's season continues to get worse after its Champions League exit, as it was humbled by Parma and the diminutive Sebastian Giovinco. However, qualification to Europe's top competition looks a real possibility for Lazio after its attacking spectacle in Sicily.

Meanwhile, Roma may be under new ownership, but that wasn't enough as it was defeated by the inconsistent Palermo and Juventus could not continue their win streak after being held by Fiorentina.

Furthermore, at the bottom of the table, Cesena picked up key points in its fight against relegation and Genoa was back on form with a convincing 3-0 result versus struggling Brescia.
So finally the result of the few big team in Serie A has been become a shocking news. And this is the Serie A Table for Giornata 33

Giornata 33,Catania 1-4 SS.Lazio

Lazio strengthened their grip on fourth place in Serie A with a convincing victory at Catania this afternoon.
Hernanes put Lazio ahead before half-time before Matias Ezequiel Schelotto equalised soon after the re-start.

Stefano Mauri then put Lazio back in front in the 56th minute and Sergio Floccari made it 3-1 with 12 minutes remaining.
Substitute Mauro Zarate capped off a wonderful afternoon for the visitors at the Angelo Massimino Stadium by adding his team's fourth one minute from time.

The result has left Lazio holding on to the last Champions League qualifying spot.
The Romans are four points clear of Udinese, who take on Napoli this evening.
The visitors enjoyed a strong start and would have taken a third minute lead had Catania goalkeeper Mariano Andujar not made a good save to deny Giuseppe Sculli's close-range header.

Shortly after, Mauri fed Floccari inside the area and his effort went wide.
Lazio pressed forward and could have gone in front in the 19th minute when Mauri's cross found Floccari inside the six-yard box but his shot was kept out by Andujar.

Lazio's efforts paid off before half-time.
Mauri's headed pass fell to Hernanes and he struck from close-range past Andujar.

Catania could have equalised seconds later with their first real chance of the game.
Ciro Capuano passed to Maxi Lopez on the left of the box, however, his effort went just wide of the near post.
Catania did pull level one minute after the re-start.

Lazio goalkeeper Fernando Muslera could not hold onto Gonzalo Bergessio's bullet strike and the ball fell to Schelotto who fired past the keeper.
Lazio reacted and went back in front.
Mauri got behind Zarate's cross and struck from close range into the back of the net.
Catania could have made it 2-2 in the 74th minute but Matias Silvestre's header from Alejandro Gomez's cross went over the bar.

At the other end, Zarate found Floccari inside the area and his right-footed strike beat Andujar.
With one minute remaining, Zarate's free-kick towards the left corner of goal beat Andujar.

Giornata 32,SS.Lazio 2-0 AC.Parma

Lazio leapfrogged Udinese to go fourth in Serie A with a comfortable victory over Parma to spoil Franco Colomba's first match in charge.

Hernanes put the Romans ahead midway through the first half before substitute Sergio Floccari made it 2-0 with 13 minutes remaining.
The result spoiled Colomba's bow in the Parma dugout but raised the hosts' prospects of securing Champions League football at the end of the season, with Lazio now one point clear of Udinese, who lost 2-1 against Roma yesterday.

Parma, meanwhile, have dropped one place to 17th in the standings, just one point clear of the relegation zone.
Colomba, who replaced Pasquale Marino after Parma's 2-1 home defeat by bottom side Bari last weekend, took the reins of a team that had won just once in its previous 10 games appears to have his work cut out reversing that run.

The home side enjoyed a strong start and took a 23rd-minute lead.
Christian Brocchi fed Hernanes outside the area and his right-footed shot from 30 yards whistled past Parma goalkeeper Antonio Mirante.
Parma threatened to equalise on the half-hour mark but Lazio goalkeeper Fernando Muslera kept out Sebastian Giovinco's bullet strike from just outside the area.

Parma went close before half-time when Amauri got behind Francesco Modesto's cross from the right but his powerful header from the heart of the area went wide.
Lazio could have scored again an hour into the contest but Giuseppe Sculli's effort went wide.
In the 77th minute, Floccari made no mistake with an opportunity that was set up by Stephan Lichtsteiner.

He served Floccari inside the area and his right-footed shot from eight yards beat Mirante.
Hernanes could have claimed his second of the afternoon deep in injury time but struck wide from close range.

Giornata 31,Napoli 4-3 SS.Lazio

Edinson Cavani's hat-trick helped Napoli move ahead of Inter Milan into second place in Serie A after they came from behind to beat a Lazio side who had twice led the game.

Napoli coach Walter Mazzarri hailed his team's spirit after the crucial victory.

"This 4-3 result is proof we just do not give up, ever, especially in front of our own fans," Mazzarri said. "Even when 2-0 down we still believed and I think at the end we deserved the victory. We went behind at the first Lazio effort, so for a while it seemed like the game was cursed.

"When you are trailing in such an important game with so much expectation, it's not easy to react. We made a few tactical mistakes, especially on the second goal, so we've got to fix those uncharacteristic errors.

"Cavani was exceptional. It's a shame he got that pointless yellow card and will be suspended against Bologna, but we'll have him for the next six games."

Lazio appeared to be on course to close the gap on Napoli in third place when they took the lead in the 28th minute as midfielder Stefano Mauri fired into the corner of the net from the middle of the penalty area.

The hosts then found themselves two goals up on 56 minutes when centre-back Andre Dias fired in after a pinpoint free-kick from Javier Garrido.

But Napoli have been in fantastic form at the San Paolo, not losing at home since league leaders AC Milan won there in October, and two quickfire goals brought them right back into the match.

Firstly, on the hour mark, full-back Andrea Dossena headed in from six yards before Cavani scored his first of the match two minutes later, another header after a flick-on by Christian Maggio.

Lazio should have been back in front within five minutes as Cristian Brocchi's effort hit the bar and appeared to bounce behind the line, but the referee waved play on.

It did not take long for Lazio to find the goal which restored their advantage - within two minutes of Brocchi's shot Napoli centre-back Salvatore Aronica slid in to attempt a clearance when facing his own goal and turned the ball into the net.

Giuseppe Biava was then sent off for the visitors with ten minutes to go after hauling down the impressive Cavani in the box, the Uruguayan picking himself up to convert the penalty.

Cavani, who is now Napoli's all-time top goalscorer in a single season, then completed his hat-trick with one minute of regulation time remaining, beating the offside trap to lob Fernando Muslera in the Lazio goal to spark scenes of wild celebrations.

The drama did not end there after tempers flared deep into stoppage time, with Lazio's Giuseppe Sculli receiving his second booking of the game but remarkably the referee failed to produce the red card.

Giornata 30,SS.Lazio 1-0 Cesena

Lazio moved above Udinese into fourth place in Serie A thanks to victory over Cesena at the Stadio Olimpico.

A goal from Mauro Zarate after just 88 seconds was enough to lift the Biancoceleste back into the race for a place in the Champions League next season and leave Cesena in danger at the other end of the table.

The home side had chances to make it a more comfortable win and almost paid the price for not doing so as Cesena fought spiritedly until the final whistle, albeit without creating any real chances.

Zarate scored his first goal of 2011 to put Lazio in front after little over a minute.

Stefano Mauri pulled the ball back from the byline and Zarate stretched out his right foot to divert it past Francesco Antonioli inside the far post.

Cesena responded immediately with Dominique Malonga and Luis Jimenez very active behind Erjon Bogdani, but the Lazio defence never really looked stretched.

The home side threatened a second just before half-time with Andre Dias' header from a corner diverted towards goal by Stefano Mauri, but Antonioli made an instinctive save to deny him.

Moments later, Zarate found his way to the byline and pulled the ball back to Sculli, but his shot went wide of the near post.

Sculli came even closer to scoring a second in the third minute of the second half when his header was pushed onto the post by Antonioli.

Alvaro Gonzalez's shot was cleared just in front of the goal-line by the defence in the 65th minute as Lazio continued to look for a goal to put the game beyond their opponents.

But Cesena were still fighting and Fabio Caserta should have done better in the 67th minute when he received the ball 15 yards from goal, but he shot straight at Nelson Muslera in the Lazio goal.

Davide Santon curled an effort wide before Zarate did the same at the other end as the game opened up for the final 20 minutes, but there were no further goals as Edy Reja's side bounced straight back from their derby defeat last weekend to move back into the top four.

Giornata 29,AS.R(i)oma 2-0 SS.Lazio

Roma revived their top-four ambitions in Serie A with a Francesco Totti brace sealing victory over nine-man Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico.

Totti opened the scoring in the 70th minute before the Roma captain added his second from the penalty spot with seconds remaining.

Lazio ended the game without both Stefan Radu and Christian Ledesma both shown red cards in the final stages of a heated encounter.

The result dropped Lazio to fifth place, with Roman one place and two points behind them.

Vincenzo Montella's Roma went into the encounter on the back of a 3-0 midweek defeat at Shakhtar Donetsk that saw them crash out of the Champions League.

Acting hosts Roma could have gone in front early on when David Pizarro's 30-yard stinging drive struck the crossbar with Lazio goalkeeper Fernando Muslera already beaten.

Midway through the first half, Mirko Vucinic latched onto Daniele de Rossi's cross but his weak header provided an easy catch for Muslera.

Lazio had the first chance in the 34th minute when Sergio Floccari fed Hernanes outside the area and his left-footed strike went wide.

Roma then threatened just before the interval.

Totti fed Juan inside the area and his six-yard effort was blocked by Lazio defender Ledesma.

Lazio looked more lively after the restart and, in the 53rd minute, Floccari's header from Stefan Lichtsteiner's cross flew just wide.

Lazio again could have broken the deadlock in the 66th minute but Floccari's header, this time from Hernanes' cross, went inches past the far post.

Despite their efforts, it was Roma who took the lead soon after when Totti's 30-yard strike towards the centre of goal beat Muslera to break the deadlock in spectacular fashion.

Lazio suffered a further blow with three minutes remaining when Radu was handed his marching orders after headbutting Roma's Fabio Simplicio.

Shortly afterwards, the referee pointed to the spot after Giuseppe Biava held Simplicio inside the area.

Totti coolly struck towards the far post for his second of the afternoon.

Lazio then had Ledesma sent off for dissent to wrap up a dismal afternoon for the Biancoceleste.

Former Bologna Coach Franco Colomba: Lazio Will Edge Roma In Derby

Lazio have been tipped to hold the balance of power in Sunday's derby della capitale against Roma, Franco Colomba said.

Colomba, a former Serie A coach with Bologna, believes Lazio will increase their influence in Rome by beating their historic city rivals.
"I say Lazio. The Biancocelesti are in a good moment of form and they have high morale, whereas Roma are off the back of two big losses," Colomba said again.

"It won't be easy for Roma to recover after their loss against Shakhtar Donetsk, especially in the face of such a delicate clash. But, keep an eye on Roma as it is the derby."
Roma are looking for a lift, and Colomba believes club legend Francesco Totti will provide the hoist.

"I expect a big performance from Totti. He has the obligation to make up for recent derbies which have escaped him, and thus he can drag his team forward," he said.

Lazio's Mauro Zarate: Derby Against Roma Is More Than Just A Game

Zarate is gearing himself up for the derby between Roma and Lazio.

Lazio striker Mauro Zarate has said that he is looking forward to mustering all three points against city-rivals Roma in their derby in Serie A at the weekend.
The Aquile are currently fourth in the table and are five points ahead of their arch-rivals, who are stationed in sixth position. Lazio have been inconsistent in the new year while Roma are coming off the back of a 3-0 defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League in Ukraine on Tuesday evening.

Zarate, though, is confident of a victory over the Lupi and told Lazio Style Radio, “I hope to play a great game and if I score then I’ll go to celebrate under the Curva Nord.
“We promise our fans that we’ll do our best, as for us the derby is far more than just an important game, especially as we lost the last four.
“If all goes as planned, then a win over Roma would leave them eight points behind us. There is only one result for Lazio: victory.

“Don’t forget we also need points to stay in the Champions League race. We don’t wish to lose fourth place and in fact want to push for third.”
The Argentine also played down suggestions of a feud between him and coach Edy Reja and explained, “The fans are really firing me up for this derby and I am ready to make any sacrifice for Lazio.

“If the coach makes me take the free kicks, then I can even go in goal. I don’t mind working for the team, just as I did against Palermo.

“I spoke to Reja and must say I have a good rapport with him.”

Giornata 28,SS.Lazio 2-0 US Citta di Palermo

Lazio climbed back into fourth place by beating Palermo and handing their new coach Serse Cosmi a defeat on his debut.

Giuseppe Sculli scored twice for Lazio in the opening 18 minutes to fire the Romans into a comfortable lead at the Stadio Olimpico.
Palermo struggled again in front of goal and could not find a way back into the game.

Lazio had fallen into fifth place, out of the Champions League spots, after Udinese's 1-0 victory over Bari earlier on Sunday.
However, the outcome in Rome has lifted Lazio one point clear of Udinese with 10 games remaining.

Palermo, meanwhile, have dropped to eighth in the standings after a fourth straight defeat and Cosmi's first.
Cosmi took over earlier this week after the Palermo board finally lost patience with Delio Rossi following the 7-0 home humiliation by Udinese last weekend.
Cosmi experimented with a 3-5-1-1 formation with Javier Pastore playing behind Abel Hernandez in attack.

The visitors were on the back foot in the early stages as Lazio swarmed forward and went in front in the seventh minute.
Cristian Ledesma served Sculli inside the area and his right-footed strike towards the far post beat Palermo goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu.

Palermo had little time to react as the hosts doubled their lead in the 18th minute.
Lazio capitalised on a mistake by Sirigu when he failed to clear Ledesma's cross and Sculli headed home his second of the night.

It took Palermo 24 minutes to create a chance of note and even then Hernandez's 18-yard effort went wide of the far post.

Palermo came close to reducing the deficit in the half-hour mark.

However, Lazio goalkeeper Fernando Muslera made an acrobatic save from Pastore's close-range header.
Before the interval, Hernanes warmed the palms of Sirigu with a stinding drive from outside the area.
Lazio coach Edy Reja was forced to make a substitution early in the second half with Alvaro Gonzalez replacing the injured Sculli.

Shortly after the hour-mark, Mattia Cassani slotted a pass across the box but could not find a Palermo team-mate.
An unmarked Guglielmo Stendardo should have made it 3-0 with 10 minutes to go but his close-range header from Ledesma's cross went off target.

With one minutes remaining, Palermo substitute Michele Paolucci drilled his low shot wide of the far post in what was the last chance of the game.

Giornata 27,Cagliari 1-0 SS.Lazio

Lazio's five-match unbeaten run came to an end this afternoon as Andre Dias' own goal condemned them to defeat at Cagliari.

Defender Dias put through his own net in the 40th minute and that proved the difference between the sides at the Stadio Sant' Elia.

The visitors had a hatful of chances to equalise but found Cagliari goalkeeper in Michael Agazzi in inspired form.
Lazio stayed fourth in the Serie A standings despite the loss, but just one point clear of Udinese who thrashed Palermo 7-0 in Sicily.

Cagliari, meanwhile, have taken a giant step towards retaining their top-flight status, climbing to ninth on 38 points.

The hosts were on the front foot from the start, Nene's header from Gabriele Perico's cross going wide.
At the other end, Agazzi kept out Libor Kozak's powerful header from Cristian Ledesma's cross.

Agazzi was called on again to make a save in the 36th minute. He managed to get a touch to clear Hernanes' bullet strike from 30 yards.

Cagliari finally went in front five minutes before the interval. Lazio goalkeeper Tommaso Berni did well to clear Robert Acquafresca's shot but the ball ricocheted off Dias' knee and went over the line.
Lazio surged forward more aggressively in the second half and Agazzi was forced to fully stretch to clear Ledesma's 30-yard volley.

Shortly after the hour mark, Francesco Matuzalem fed Hernanes on the edge of the area and his strike towards the far post was saved by Agazzi.

In the 85th minute, Berni kept Lazio in the game with a fine save from Simone Missiroli's eight-yard shot.
Cagliari defended deeply and the visitors were reduced to long-range efforts.

With two minutes to go, substitute Mauro Zarate tried his luck from outside the area but his attempt was again kept out by Agazzi in what was the last chance of the game.

Lazio goalkeeper Fernando Muslera will be out for at least three weeks with a sprained ankle but he is optimistic of returning in time for the Rome derby on March 13

"I hoped the consultation had gone better as I felt well compared to Sunday," he told Lalaziosiamonoi.it.

"Now I hope to be back in time for the derby. I certainly don't want to miss the game against Roma.

"We are on the right track, but there are still many games to go."

In a statement, Lazio added, "Muslera will continue rehabilitation and he will undergo new examinations within eight to ten days."

Muslera will miss the games against Cagliari and Palermo.

Sad sad news we got after Muslera's awesome performance.
Now we have to give chance to Berni to show his potential guts.
I dont wanna say that Our Muslera is The Best;lets say our SS.Lazio Goalkeeper is the best.
Lets give them our full support from Laziale around the world.

Well, same as Muslera's hope to come back when we should face AS Roma on a derby called Derby Della Capitale.
Just want to make sure that we should win that match,at least to break their domination in the last 3 years.

Result of Giornata 26

This time,I'll update the result of the match that occured in Saturday-Sunday.
Alot of surprising event occured on few matches in Giornata 26,which make the Serie A became hot now,not only at the big 4,but also at the least 4,relegation zone.
Starts from the shocking lost of Juventus,as they have been beaten by the 20th ranks US Lecce. They dont even took a shame lost, but they also lost their Goalkeeper,Gianluigi Buffon, which have been red-carded by the referee.
In the other side, they have failed to maintain their position, which make them should force themself to face the next match with a win.It make them stay on the sixth-position,which is the last team to qualify on the Europa League next season.
Then,a failed-to-win match for AS Roma. They had been leading by 3 goals, before Genoa back to their sense and chased Roma, and finally took the 4-3 win.
Its really out of sense for AS Roma, which said to be one of the strongest Serie A team, which also famous for their defense to maintain the lead after they scored more than a goal.
But this time, something weird happened and this is also showed us the determination of a Home team really affect to the result of the match.Rodrigo Palacio and Alberto Paloschi are the star for this match. Both of them scored 2 goals, that made the final result finally be a win for the home team.4-3 for Genoa.
Also, the goal made by D.Paponi at the 90th minutes which faced Bologna vs Palermo, became the only goal to make the home team took the lead and won the match.
This statistic will be updated after the match between Napoli and Catania.
I really hope Napoli lost, because the losing will make the margin between Lazio and Napoli decreased by 1 point.

So,this is the complete result on giornata 26.

And Serie A standings in Giornata 26

Giornata 26,SS Lazio 1-0 AS Bari

Lazio edged strugglers Bari this afternoon to secure back-to-back Serie A wins for the first time since October and remain fourth in the table.

Brazilian midfielder Anderson Hernanes' sixth-minute goal handed the Romans all three points at the Stadio Olimpico.

Lazio could have won by a greater margin but Jean Francois Gillet put in a solid performance in goal to keep the visitors in the game.
Bari failed to test Biancoceleste goalkeeper Tommaso Berni until the hour mark but Lazio were made to sweat in the final stages of the contest with the visitors pressing forward in search of an equaliser that never arrived.

The result has left Bari at the foot of the standings, 11 points from safety.
Edy Reja's men got the boost of an early goal to calm nerves at the Stadio Olimpico.
Giuseppe Sculli's cross found Hernanes in the heart of the area and his right-footed strike beat Gillet.

The goal inspired the home side, with Hernanes tormenting the Bari defence with a further six attempts on goal before half-time.
On the half-hour mark, Gillet fully stretched to clear Hernanes' right-footed shot from 20 yards.

Five minutes before the break, Hernanes's curled free-kick was kept out by Gillet.
With Bari struggling to break Lazio's well-placed defence, it was the hosts that should have doubled their lead in the 52nd minute.
Libor Kozak shot narrowly wide of the Bari goal with his right foot from the edge of the box.

The visitors, who went into the encounter having claimed just one point in their last seven games, almost equalised in the 59th minute in what was their first scoring opportunity.

Berni kept out Massimo Donati's right-footed effort from 20 yards.
At the other end, Gillet made a superb save to deny Sculli's close-range effort.

With five minutes remaining, Lazio defended deeply and Giuseppe Stendardo made a crucial tackle with substitute Jose Ignacio Castillo ready to fire home from Sergio Almiron's pass.

Preview Before Match,SS Lazio vs AS Bari

Lazio goalkeeper Fernando Muslera believes tomorrow's clash against bottom side Bari could make or break their challenge for a place in the Champions League.

The Romans sit fourth in the Serie A table and hold the final berth to qualify for Europe's top club competition.
With fifth-placed Udinese, who are two points behind them, showing no signs of slowing down, Muslera knows a victory is essential if they are to remain in the top four.

"At this point we are at a crossroads and if we can maintain our form we can do well,'' said Muslera.

"We have to try to remain in this position until the end.''

Edy Reja's men go into the encounter inspired by last weekend's 2-0 triumph at Brescia but Muslera is aware of the threat posed by tomorrow's struggling opponents.

"It's going to be a very hard game,'' he said. "They will come here ready to take three crucial points in their battle to avoid relegation.
"Last year we lost against them at home and now we want to make amends.''

The Galletti lie at the bottom of the table with just 15 points from 25 games and go into the game at the Stadio Olimpico nine points adrift from safety.
The arrival of coach Bortolo Mutti, who replaced the sacked Giampiero Ventura last week, inspired Bari to halt a run of six consecutive defeats with a goalless draw against Genoa last time out.

"It is still possible for us to avoid the drop,'' said striker Jose Ignacio Castillo.

"The situation is not easy, but we will take things one step at a time. We are ready for Lazio.''
Bari have won just three times this season, their last coming against Lecce on January 6.

The hosts will be without injured pair Stefano Mauri and Stefan Lichtsteiner.

Lazio Coach Edoardo Reja Delighted With Victory Over Brescia

Coach Edoardo Reja outlined Lazio’s technical quality as the means to overcoming Brescia at the Stadio Mario Rigamonti.

As Lazio moved back into third place following a routine 2-0 victory over Brescia, Aquile coach Edoardo Reja praised his side for working hard to secure a much-needed win away from home.

“We played a great game today,” he declared to SkySport.

“Our technical quality made the difference against Brescia but I was delighted with the manner in the boys ran out there.
“When you combine skill with the will to sacrifice the results are usually easier to come by.

“In the end it proved to be quite an easy victory but this mustn’t take anything away from my men who worked hard to make life easier.
“Over the course of the season it’s normal that you will eventually experience a dip in form. In January we didn’t pick up as many points as the fans may have liked and the critics have been hard on my side.

“On a positive note I think the side is getting back on the right road and it will be important to build on the results in the coming weeks.”

Giornata 25,Brescia Calcio 0-2 SS.Lazio

Lazio boosted their Champions League hopes by returning to winning ways in Serie A at relegation-threatened Brescia this afternoon.

Edy Reja's side had won just two games this year and headed to the Stadio Mario Rigamonti on the back of a 1-1 draw against Chievo.
But a goal in each half, from Alvaro Gonzalez and Libor Kozak, earned the visitors three points to move them within seven points of leaders AC Milan.

The Biancoceleste started brightly and could have gone ahead in the ninth minute from a Christian Ledesma header but Brescia goalkeeper Michele Arcari saved well.
The opener did arrive nine minutes later, however, when Gonzalez nodded home a superb cross from Stephan Liechsteiner.

Arcari remained the busier of the two goalkeepers as Lazio pushed for a second, parrying a 25-yard Hernanes effort and diving to keep out another long-range blast from Gonzalez.
Opposite number Fernando Muslera was troubled for the first time in the 37th minute and was up to the task of keeping out Panagiotis Kone's header.

That saved proved vital as, 13 minutes after the break, Lazio doubled their lead when Kozak powered a fine header into the top-left corner from a Gonzalez corner.
Seemingly not satisfied with their two-goal cushion, the visitors continued to go forward in search of a third.

Giuseppe Sculli drilled a shot just wide and then turned provider for Kozak, who mis-kicked from close range at the far post.
Third-bottom Brescia refused to give up and could have halved the deficit if Jonathan Zebina's header had fallen the right side of the post.

Mauro Zarate then had a shot cleared off the line by Brescia defender Francesco Bega.
The action continued to switch from end to end with Muslera called into action twice in the final five minutes to preserve his side's two-goal cushion.
First he produced a brilliant save to keep out a close-range Eder blast and he then denied Alessandro Diamanti, whose fierce 20-yard shot had looked goal-bound.

Diamanti struck the post with a left-footed free-kick in stoppage time, but it was just not to be Brescia's day.

Giornata 24,SS.Lazio 1-1 Chievo Verona

After the successful result to hold Serie A leader AC Milan 0-0,Lazio now have a chance to decrease the distance between Milan, when we have to play against Chievo Verona at Stadio Olimpico, our home.
But the result really surprised us.They hold us,by 1-1.

Lazio failed to gain ground on Serie A leaders AC Milan after being held to a 1-1 draw by Chievo in Rome.
Hernanes put Lazio ahead with a free-kick on the stroke of half-time but Chievo found the equaliser through defender Bostjan Cesar in the 64th minute.

With Milan also drawing, 1-1 at Genoa, the leaders remained seven points clear of Lazio, who are in third place.
Chievo again frustrated Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico, claiming a draw for the ninth time in their last 10 games at the venue.

Despite having plenty of possession early on, Lazio lacked the cutting edge to break down Chievo's well-organised defence.
The hosts had the first chance in the 17th minute when Libor Kozak's header from Mauro Zarate's cross was saved by Chievo goalkeeper Stefano Sorrentino.

Lazio coach Edy Reja was forced to make his first substitution soon after with Lionel Scaloni replacing the injured Stefan Radu.
The Romans kept up the pressure and almost went in front in the 28th minute.
Giuseppe Biava fed Kozak inside the box and his right-footed strike was kept out by Sorrentino.

Chievo finally put a good move together in the 35th minute when Mariano Bogliacino served Sergio Pellissier outside the area and his bullet strike forced Lazio goalkeeper Fernando Muslera to stretch fully in order to clear.

Lazio went in front before the interval when Hernanes' 25-yard free-kick beat Sorrentino.
The visitors had an opportunity to pull level immediately after the break when Gelson Fernandes got his head to a cross by Bogliacino but his effort was parried away by Muslera.

Chievo continued to press forward and were rewarded after the hour mark as Bogliacino hit the ball towards the far post and Cesar scored from close range.
Lazio could have gone back in front with 19 minutes remaining but substitute Giuseppe Sculli struck just wide of the far post from eight yards.

Chievo then could have sealed all three points late in the game but Lazio defender Stephan Lichtsteiner made a crucial block of Pellissier's shot which was on target.

Giornata 23,AC.Milan 0-0 SS.Lazio

Zlatan Ibrahimovic saw a second-half shot cannon off both posts as Serie A leaders AC Milan were held to a goalless draw by third-placed Lazio at the San Siro

Milan had much the better of proceedings and the bulk of the shots on goal, but could not better Ibrahimovic's 51st-minute effort which hit the frame of the goal twice before goalkeeper Fernando Muslera was able to recover the ball.
The result extends Milan's lead over Napoli to seven points, but if they win their game in hand they can make inroads on Rossoneri.

Lazio started positively, Hernanes and Cristian Ledesma both firing on goal in the opening three minutes, but it was the hosts who should have taken an early lead.
Ibrahimovic played a clever pass for Mathieu Flamini but the midfielder could not get the all-important touch.

It was Flamini at the business end again after 13 minutes, Massimo Oddo crossing only for the Frenchman to head well wide.
Alvaro Gonzalez also missed a header from a good position, while Flamini's luck was not getting any better, this time volleying over from Robinho's neat pass.

Ibrahimovic began to come to the fore, almost forcing Andre Dias to score an own-goal and then teeing up the wasteful Urby Emanuelson.
The Sweden striker thought he had scored six minutes into the second half, cutting in on his right foot and beating Muslera, only to see the ball hit one post and then the other before squirming free.

Milan were rampant now, Flamini, Ibrahimovic and Robinho all going close in a hectic 10-minute period.

The goal came ever close after 64 minutes when Robinho beat the keeper with a low shot, only for Stephan Lichsteiner to clear off the line.
From there on, Lazio held on with more solidity, giving away only one more real chance which substitute Antonio Cassano wasted.

Giornata 22,SS.Lazio 2-0 Fiorentina

After the dissapointed result when we played at Renato Dall'ara, and lost by 3 goalss to one,we should move forward, and give the pressure to the Serie A leader,AC Milan.
But this time,we should fight against Fiorentina.
Luckily, our home record against Fiorentina is great.
But this time,we can not put Mauro Zarate to be the starting eleven, because of a "tragedy" at Renato Dall'ara.

Libor Kozak inspired Lazio to victory over Fiorentina to move the Biancoceleste up to third in the Serie A table.
The Czech striker scored two goals in four second-half minutes to earn Eduardo Reja's side only their second win of 2011 and lift them above Napoli into second place, setting up a mouth-watering clash with leaders AC Milan on Tuesday.

Without the suspended Mauro Zarate, it was up to Kozak to lead Lazio's assault on three points and he rose to the occasion.
In the fifth minute, he set up Sergio Floccari for the first chance of the game, but Artur Boruc pushed the Lazio striker's shot wide of the post.

Kozak was lurking at the far post in the 25th minute and he was preparing to nod the ball in before Nikola Gulan leaned back and managed to head the ball behind to keep Fiorentina on terms.

The visitors' one and only chance of the first half came from Alessio Cerci in the 28th minute, but his shot was pushed wide by Nelson Muslera.
A slight deflection off the toe of Alessandro Gamberini made Boruc's save from Alvaro Gonzalez's shot a bit tricky as Lazio created the last chance of the first half in the 41st minute.

Lazio went ahead in the 69th minute after Per Kroldrup fouled Kozak inside the penalty area, earning a yellow card for the clear foul.
The tall Lazio striker picked himself up to convert the spot-kick.

Four minutes later, the imperious Kozak was on target again, stooping to head in from two yards out after ghosting in unmarked at the far post to meet Giuseppe Sculli's cross.
Lazio defended their lead without any problems and will now look forward to Tuesday's trip to the San Siro.

Giornata 21,Bologna 3-1 SS.Lazio

Ah,I finally back from hiatus, because alot of work given by the lecture made me busy in the last 3 weeks.
So,when I back,I should update SS.Lazio match. And sadly,i should start from when SS.Lazio got beaten by Bologna in Renato Dall'ara.

Marco Di Vaio scored twice for Bologna as the Rossoblu came from behind to beat Lazio.
Sergio Floccari put the Romans in front in the fifth minute only for Gaston Ramirez to bring Bologna level in the 36th minute.
Di Vaio gave the hosts the lead three minutes later before sealing the win with his second at the death.

Lazio also ended the game with 10 men after defender Andre Dias was sent off for a second bookable offence.
The result sees Lazio drop to fourth in the standings, one point behind city rivals Roma, while Bologna climb to 13th place.

Lazio went into the game on the back of a 2-1 midweek defeat to Roma that knocked them out of the Coppa Italia.
The visitors took an early lead when Floccari struck from the heart of the area past Bologna goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano.

Shortly after, Di Vaio's right-footed shot was met by a fine save from Lazio goalkeeper Fernando Muslera.
The visitors came close to doubling their lead in the 25th minute but Floccari's header from Christian Brocchi's cross was kept out by Viviano.

Bologna then increased the tempo and found the equaliser when Albin Ekdal fed Ramirez inside the area and he hit the back of the net.
Di Vaio gave the home side a deserved lead when he controlled Francesco Della Rocca's pass and struck the ball past Muslera from 10 yards.

Lazio could have made it 2-2 before half-time but Viviano did well to fully stretch and clear Mauro Zarate's 15-yard attempt.
The visitors also had a decent chance to equalise on the hour mark but Floccari's header from Alvaro Gonzalez's cross went over the bar.
And Bologna had a two-goal lead in the final minute when they punished a poor clearance by Lazio defender Giuseppe Biava.

Di Vaio pounced and hit a right-footed shot from the heart of the area past Muslera.

The Result of This Week

AC Milan were held to a 1-1 draw by a stern Lecce side at the Stadio Via del Mare to miss the opportunity to move six points clear at the top of Serie A.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic put the league leaders in front in the 49th minute, but a proud reaction from the home side culminated in Ruben Olivera earning them a point with eight minutes to go.

Alberto Aquilani scored a terrific later winner as Juventus arrested a run of three games without a win to beat Bari 2-1.
The on-loan Liverpool midfielder drove home from the edge of the box with 11 minutes remaining to condemn the rock bottom side to another defeat. The evergreen Alessandro del Piero had given Juve a first-half lead, only for Gergely Rudolf to level shortly after the break.

A late goal from substitute Libor Kozak stunned Sampdoria 1-0 and handed Lazio their first win of 2011.
The match at the Stadio Olimpico looked headed for a goalless draw until the Czech Republic forward popped up to score the winner six minutes from time. Kozak came off the bench and met Cristian Ledesma's cross with a powerful header to give Lazio all three points.

A late own goal by Maximiliano Pellegrino handed Roma a narrow 1-0 victory at Cesena.
The luckless defender stuck out a foot in the hope of clearing Fabio Simplicio's close-range effort but poked the ball into the back of his own net. Seconds earlier, Roma substitute Marco Borriello had struck the crossbar.

Udinese continued their excellent run of form with a convincing 4-2 win at Genoa to cement eighth place in Serie A. For the second game in a row, the Bianconeri scored four goals on the road, although this time they were rewarded with all three points.

Pablo Armero put them ahead in the 27th minute but Omar Milanetto levelled for the hosts in first-half stoppage time. Antonio Di Natale put Udinese back in front in the 56th minute only for Mattia Destro to respond just a minute later.

Alexi Sanchez and German Denis added two further goals for Francesco Guidolin's side as they deservedly took all three points at the Stadio Luigi Ferrrais.
Goals from Francesco Bega and Alessandro Diamanti gave struggling Brescia a comfortable 2-0 win over 10-man Parma.

The dismissal of Massimo Paci inside half an hour left Parma on the back foot and Bega broke the deadlock in style in first-half injury time. Parma's best chance went begging when no attacker could meet Antonio Candreva's cross and Diamanti's well-taken late effort made the result safe.

Cagliari lifted themselves into the top half of Serie A thanks to a 3-1 win over Palermo.
Alessandro Matri put the hosts in front in the 23rd minute before an own goal by Antonio Nocerino early in the second half gave them a two-goal cushion. Javier Pastore reduced the arrears within minutes, but Davide Biondini sealed the win for Roberto Donadoni's side shortly afterwards

Catania and Chievo failed to put significant distance between themselves and the Serie A relegation zone as they played out an entertaining 1-1 stalemate at Stadio Angelo Massimino.

Maxi Lopez fired the hosts ahead from the penalty spot after 29 minutes but a Sergio Pellissier strike 20 minutes into the second period ensured the points were shared.

Serie A Standings at Giornata 20

The 1-0 Won Against Sampdoria Decreased the different by 3 Points from the Serie A Leader,AC.Milan

Great game tonight, even if the winning goal came late,as a substitute player,Libor Kozak scored at 84th.It's so amazing week, that we can see Napoli lost.It means every effort we put at the Olimpico against Sampdoria has been showed it result.

Its true we still have to wait the match at Via Del Mare, when Lecce stand to fight against the Serie A Leader,AC.Milan.

I myself really confident, that AC Milan will win that match, even if we dont want them win this week. They've been shown their stable performance for the past 5 weeks, after they took our 1st position.

A 4 points-different will make it a bit easier than we had last week, when we have the chance to decrease the different.

But the surprising lost against Lecce really beat us to the earth.
Well, not alot of surprising event happened,as the big team defeated their enemy.
As lazio defeat Sampdoria 1-0 while our eternal rival also took a three points against Cesena,as Juventus beat Bari by a 2-1 won.

Last, but not Least,This is the Serie A standings, based on the match that happened today. We still have to wait for Lecce vs AC Milan, but it wont really make the difference to the competition at the map.

Giornata 20,SS.Lazio 1-0 Sampdoria

A Late goal by Kozak stunned Sampdoria,While Napoli was beaten by Internazionale with a 4-1 demolition

A late goal from substitute Libor Kozak stunned Sampdoria and handed Lazio their first win of 2011 this afternoon.

The match at the Stadio Olimpico looked headed for a goalless draw until the Czech Republic forward popped up to score the winner six minutes from time.

Kozak came off the bench and met Cristian Ledesma's cross with a powerful header to give Lazio all three points.

The result moved Lazio into second place, level on 37 points with Napoli after 20 games.

Samp went into the match inspired by last weekend's 2-1 triumph over Roma.

And Domenico Di Carlo's men seemed intent on repeating that display against Roma's city rivals with Nicola Pozzi's early strike from the heart of the area turned away by goalkeeper Fernando Muslera.

At the other end, Hernanes' right-footed shot from 30 yards was saved by Samp keeper Gianluca Curci.

Samp should have broken the deadlock before half-time but Fernando Tissone's effort from the edge of the area was kept out by Muslera.

The visitors continued their dominance in the second half and Giampaolo Pazzini missed a gilt-edged chance six minutes after the restart when he was left unmarked in the area yet still dragged his effort wide.

Shortly after the hour mark, Lazio's Mauro Zarate let fly with a 25-yard strike which whistled just past the right post.

And as the clock ticked down, Di Carlo's men made one final push to take the points.

With eight minutes remaining, substitute Federico Macheda's header from Vladimir Koman's cross went over the bar.

And instead Lazio had the final say with Kozak's effort from the heart of the area beating Curci.

Giornata 19,SS.Lazio 1-2 US.Lecce

A Surprised Lose in Olimpico kicked Lazio from the 2nd Place in Serie A

Lazio slipped up at home to struggling Lecce with a 2-1 defeat at the Stadio Olimpico.

The team which started the day second from bottom managed to defeat the side second from the top with a display of motivation and determination

An own goal from Nelson Muslera in the 39th minute put the visitors in front against a poor Lazio side.

The hosts improved early in the second half and levelled through Stefano Mauri just two minutes in, but Carlos Grossmuller grabbed a deserved winner for Lecce to give them three crucial points in their battle against relegation.

It was a forgettable first half for both sides with Lecce shading it only slightly, and that was reflected in the scoreline.

Jeda's shot in the 39th minute landed plum on the right-hand post from where it rebounded against Muslera's back and, subsequently, into the net.

Lazio needed to improve and they did with Mauri bringing them level in the 47th minute.

It was a rather scrappy goal, in keeping with the game in general, with the ball taking a few rebounds inside the penalty area before arriving at Mauri, who somehow sliced it in from a few yards out.

Grossmuller missed the chance to put Lecce back in front in the 55th minute when he sidefooted a weak shot straight at Muslera.

Mauro Zarate almost put Lazio in front when his corner hit the far post directly before Grossmuller scored with his next attempt.

Daniele Corvia missed a cross from the right, but Grossmuller's shot was accurate this time to beat Muslera.

Lecce should even have grabbed a third in the 84th minute, but the ball somehow stayed out after Jeda's shot was cleared off the line by Giuseppe Biava, Gianni Munari then headed the ball against the crossbar from just a foot out and Jeda shot wide on the next rebound.

Lazio were unable to get a leveller and failed to take advantage of AC Milan's stumble against Udinese as they fell six points behind the Rossoneri at the top.

Lecce moved up one position, leaping above Brescia and closer to safety.

Giornata 18,SS.Lazio 0-0 Genoa

Genoa and Lazio started 2011 with a point each from a goalless draw at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

In a game which lacked clear-cut goalscoring chances, the closest either side came to breaking the deadlock was when Lazio forward Hernanes hit the post early in the second half.

Genoa improved as the game progressed, but their constant search for Luca Toni inside the Lazio penalty area proved futile as they failed to win for the third home game in a row.

Sergio Floccari's deflected shot in the second minute proved to be nothing more than a false dawn as far as the first half was concerned.

The former Genoa striker missed what was the one and only decent chance in the first half when he beat the offside trap, but failed to make the most of his opportunity as the Genoa defence recovered their ground.

Floccari then found Kakha Kaladze in his way after Cristian Ledesma dissected the Genoa defence for a second time minutes later.

Kaladze, promoted to the starting XI following the sale of Andrea Ranocchia to Inter Milan, was proving to be unbeatable for the Lazio attack and he later got in the way of Mauro Zarate's goalbound volley.

The first sign of life from the home side came just two minutes before the interval when Giandomenico Mesto and Mattia Destro combined with the latter's cross cut out by Ledesma.

And Destro was incensed when referee Andrea Romeo blew his half-time whistle just as he was lining up a shot from the edge of the penalty area.

The game came to life in the second half when Hernanes' shot from 20 yards rebounded off the inside of the post and Zarate could not turn in the rebound from a tight angle.

Stefano Mauri shot wide from an angle as Lazio moved up a gear, but Genoa responded.

Toni and Kaladze both failed to get the rub of the green as the ball bounced around inside the six-yard box following a corner and Bosko Jankovic's shot was then fumbled by Nelson Muslera to Toni, who was in an offside position

A direct free-kick from Jankovic stung Muslera's hands on the hour mark before a courageous saving header from Stephan Lichtsteiner prevented Toni from nodding Destro's cross in from six yards.

Jankovic was finally seeing more of the ball and inspiring the home side.

His delicate lob into the path of Marco Rossi provided the next opportunity, but the onrushing Muslera thwarted the Genoa captain.

Toni was Genoa's target man for the final 20 minutes, but he could not make the most of a scant service as the game ended without a goal.

Giornata 17,SS.Lazio 3-2 Udinese

SS.Lazio snatched after the super late own goal by Zapata

Lazio moved to within three points of Serie A leaders AC Milan by beating Udinese at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday.

Hernanes put the home side in front in the second minute, but Alexis Sanchez equalised for the first time five minutes after the break. Giuseppe Biava restored Lazio's lead immediately, but German Denis replied with his first touch of the game 10 minutes later.

An own goal from Christian Zapata then gave Lazio all three points and allowed them to take full advantage of Milan's defeat by Roma on Saturday to reduce the deficit at the top to three points.

Given the number of chances, it was surprising that there was only one goal in the first half, and that came as early as the second minute. Tommaso Rocchi touched the ball to his side into the path of Hernanes, who was arriving like a train to place his shot into the bottom right-hand corner from 20 yards.

Udinese responded well and Antonio Di Natale missed the chance to level in the 11th minute when he beat the offside trap, but shot wide of the near post with only Nelson Muslera to beat.

Minutes later, Mauricio Isla beat the offside trap but shot across the face of goal with Di Natale screaming for the ball square of him. Armero then missed Udinese's best chance of the half in the 19th minute when he somehow shot wide from five yards out with the whole goal to aim at from Isla's low cross.

Hernanes' 25-yard shot cannoned back off the crossbar as the chances continued to rain down at both ends of the field as Stephen Lichtsteiner's shot was saved by Samir Handanovic before Hernanes fired the rebound straight at the Udinese goalkeeper.

The goals that had been lacking in the first half arrived in the second 45 minutes, starting with Udinese's first equaliser in the 50th minute. Di Natale sent in a cross with the outside of his boot and Sanchez found room to head in from close range.

Their joy at levelling was short lived as Biava responded immediately, volleying the ball into the roof of the net after a corner was headed down to him by his central defensive partner Dias.

Di Natale missed the chance to level immediately at the other end as he again failed to score with only Muslera to beat, but substitute Denis provided the second equaliser of the match in the 61st minute. Muslera slipped as he attempted to get across to reach Denis' header, which nestled in the back of the net.

The game was not over, however, and Lazio clinched all three points in the 88th minute when Zapata inadvertently headed a corner past his own goalkeeper while under pressure from Libor Kozak.
